Who I Am
I’m David C. Forward. I didn’t begin my aviation career as a journalist. I began inside airlines — at Middle East Airlines in Beirut, UTA French Airlines, and SABENA in Belgium. That experience gave me a perspective few aviation journalists can match.
For more than 20 years after that, I was Senior Contributing Editor at Airways Magazine, where I wrote more than 400 in-depth features covering airlines, airports, and operations across six continents. My work has taken me into cockpits, maintenance hangars, training centers, and C-suite boardrooms. I am an author of more than 20 books, a licensed pilot, a two-time finalist for International Aerospace Journalist of the Year, and an international keynote speaker who has presented in over 20 countries.
What drives all of it: curiosity about the airlines everyone else ignores — and the conviction that their stories deserve to be told properly.
