As an airline pilot for Iran Air during the late sixties and seventies, flying the best and the newest technology available at time, I appreciate the contrast!
Those were the days! I remember flying their 747SP JFK-THR. It seemed inconceivable at the time to be able to fly 13 hours nonstop. And Iran Air's first class service was as good as any in the world. I'm guessing they treated their expat flight crews pretty weel, too.
